Spanish online for children aged 6–12 – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Absolutely yes. Our online Spanish courses for kids are conducted entirely live with our enthusiastic and experienced teachers and native Spanish speakers. The child connects with the teacher online with a single click to start a video call on the Teams platform. Each lesson is based on real communication and dialogue, accompanied by engaging, interactive materials and exercises designed to introduce new Spanish vocabulary and expressions.

At Ditto Kids, teachers speak exclusively in Spanish, whether it’s a course for complete beginners or advanced learners. This approach brings visible results in developing Spanish communication skills. The language is absorbed naturally, in a relaxed, playful atmosphere from the comfort of the child’s own home. Children quickly adapt to this online lesson format thanks to our use of TPR techniques — Total Physical Response — where the teacher supports the child’s understanding of Spanish through gestures, facial expressions, and visual aids. Children also learn correct pronunciation and intonation very quickly. Each lesson is based on interactive materials prepared by Ditto Kids teachers and methodologists, which introduce new language elements and serve as a starting point for communication exercises.

An online Spanish lesson for kids at any level lasts 25 minutes — as experts have shown, this is the amount of time during which a child can maintain optimal focus and naturally and effectively absorb the language.

During the course, the teacher will stay in regular contact with you — after each lesson, you’ll receive a summary with information about what your child has learned and what they can already say in Spanish. In the online progress journal, you’ll find a detailed list of the language topics covered in each class. If you have any questions, you can contact the teacher at any time — for example, they can suggest ways your child can practice Spanish at home for fun if they’re interested.

Our teachers want to get to know the child, learn about their interests and likes to properly plan the course and determine which stage of our online Spanish program for kids to start from. All Ditto Kids Spanish teachers are true enthusiasts of the Spanish language and the culture of Spanish-speaking countries, and above all, they derive great joy and satisfaction from supporting children in their language development. They are well-prepared to teach language skills — they hold degrees in language studies and pedagogy or are native speakers with teaching qualifications. Some of them conduct lessons directly from sunny Spain 🙂. They work under the supervision of methodologists and continuously train to teach better and more engagingly.

For your child to start the online Spanish course, all you need is a computer or laptop with a camera and microphone (a tablet is also an option) and an internet connection with a minimum speed of 1 Megabit (upload/download). It’s a good idea to consider using headphones to ensure your child’s comfort during the lesson.

This is an individual matter for the parent to decide. For younger children, we recommend that a parent accompanies the child during the first few sessions to help the child get comfortable with the teacher and assist with using the computer.

Ditto Kids lessons are conducted one-to-one to ensure maximum effectiveness and to fully develop your child’s language potential and abilities.

A Ditto Kids online Spanish lesson for children lasts 25 minutes and is built around a single topic, within which vocabulary and expressions are introduced, followed by communication activities where the child uses the newly learned elements in conversation. At the same time, through teacher modeling and repetition, the child naturally develops language structures without the need to learn grammar rules explicitly.
